Background of Appeal
The MediWaste Medical Treatment Facility Project is located in northeeast Pahrump, in Nye County, Nevada.
On August 26, 2026, the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) issued Medical Waste Treatment Facility Permit SW1900REV00 to MediWaste Disposal LLC. Permit SW1900REV00 is a new permit and authorizes MediWaste Disposal LLC to construct and operate a solid waste pyrolysis facility, consisting of seven pyrolysis units, contiguous land, structures, and other appurtenances and improvements for the handling and thermal processing solid waste.
Ten appeals have been filed. Four of those appeals are the subject of this hearing:
