     The Nevada State Environmental Commission will conduct a hearing commencing at 10:30 a.m (Pacific Standard Time), on Thursday, June 21, 2001. The hearing will be held at the Laughlin Town Hall Meeting Room located at the Regional Government Center, 101 Civic Way, Laughlin, Nevada.

Mohave Power Generating Station:
The public hearing will focus upon the variance to Nevada air pollution control opacity regulations for the Mohave power generating station located at Laughlin, Nevada.

The State Environmental Commission on June 20, 2000 and December 18, 2000 granted conditional approval of variances to the opacity requirements contained in NAC 445B.354 and 445B.357 and appropriate conditions in Mohave Generating Station Permit 2713 and 2714 for operation at the Mohave Generating Station.

Walker Lake &River Water Quality Standards.
The hearing will also address the status of the Environmental Commission's adopted Petition 2000-10 (LCB File No. R104-00) Walker Lake & River Water Quality Standards. The Environmental Commission on December 5, 2000 and February 15, 2001 heard public testimony and adopted standards for the Walker River and Lake. Based on Senate Concurrent Resolution #40 , the Environmental Commission on May 10, 2001 acted to take no further action on the Walker River and Lake Water Quality Standards.
