Opacity Variance Hearing of December 18, 2000

The Nevada State Environmental Commission will hold an emergency public hearing beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 18, 2000, by teleconference. The public may access the telephone conference of the Commission by dialing 1-800-597-0720. Your confirmation number is 7711551. The purpose of this hearing is for the Environmental Commission to review and renew the air quality opacity variance of the Southern California Edison Mohave power plant in Laughlin, Nevada. This variance renewal is being requested due to the emergency in electrical power capacity occurring in California. The original variance was approved by the Commission on June 20, 2000.
